The last Tessa book dealt with Luciana and married Tessa to Dastien, so I wasn't sure there was a story left here. It turned out I was wrong, there was a big threat left that had been clearly set up that I hadn't thought about. I didn't feel like something fake had been created in order to revisit these characters. This book also starts to deal with the fact that because Tessa has so much Alpha power, some things are inevitable, no matter what Tessa might prefer. I think one of the failings with the book is it doesn't make it explicit enough. Tessa is after all, so young when it comes to wolves, that without a more of an acknowledgement of what she is, both on her part and the other Alpha's, there will be issues down the road. I'm not sure Tessa herself is fully committed to what she is taking on.This series continues to show examples of healthy relationships. It also shows the importance of peace and balance among the races. We are introduced to a new character, who I feel will be a driving plot force going forward. This plot is successfully resolved, while setting up a Chris story. I'm very much looking forward to seeing how that goes.
This book was fantastic. It's been a while since i have read a series that still packs as much of a punch in it's 7th book that it did in the first. I reread the whole series again before reading this and was sucked in all over again. Tessa and her pack are facing facing the big bad. The biggest demon of them all and Luciana's meddling is still here. Even in death she is a pain in the ass.We get introduced to new allies and people and instead of overwhelming the story it adds more depth. I feel as if I am reading about my friends. That's the tell tale of a great author. You are connected to characters in the story from aching for Chris and what he is going thru, wanting Adrian to get a happy ever after, hoping Raphael realizes his worth to finding Eli hysterical. So many nuances. The ending here was satisfying and I'm upset i have to wait a year to reacquaint myself w this series. Not your typical werewolf story but every bit as awesome. Aileen Erin never disappoints and is now a must read for me.
I do like the characters... but some things I got a bit annoyed with. I think Claudia needs to set some time to teach Tessa magic, same with Cosette etc. Tessa is always unprepared so I think timing of events can be a bit better. Now that they created a new council or whatever they’re calling themselves.Claudia attitude regarding the Luciana matter could have been handled better... since she claimed it was her land her responsibility. Shane took the liberty of going to see other covens etc. again I think a lot of things need to be addressed a bit better in the books.I’m really hoping for Chris and Cosette. Curious about Eli and where that story will go. I am hoping for more of Samantha’s story to, as in she’ll join everyone. I have a feeling she’s related to Astaroth.Even though I have some annoyances looking forward to the next book.
Another whirlwind in the Alpha Girl series. Tessa thought it was all over--the chaos instigated by an evil witch. But it seems the deals made in her nefarious endeavors left lingering troubles for the witch/shifter, her mate Dastian, and her other shifter, fae and witch friends and family. On top of all those paranormal species, this book adds more demons and one of their counterparts to the mix, which definitely keeps things interesting--and I'm excited to see where that goes. I have to be honest--this book is not light-hearted; things get dark and despondent. I had to put it down more than once because my heart was racing too fast, and despair and fear were clogging up my mind--Erin is that visceral of a writer. But fear not, Tessa is not weak and she has a great team who support her to her lofty goals. If you haven't started this YA paranormal series, hop to!
This was my least favorite book in this series. I literally gave all the others 5 stars. I wish she would've ended Dastien and Tessa's part of the story in #5. I didn't like how this book didn't give them time to enjoy happiness for awhile. I mean like a month or so has gone by so they got a honeymoon, but this book literally just jumps right into conflict. And it kept frustrating me how it was just one thing after another for like a week. She doesn't even really get to sleep because it's just challenge after challenge. It was just too much. Anyway I am looking forward to the next one about Chris and Cosette and I liked Meredith and Donovan 's story in book #6, but I don't think I would read another Tessa one. She also thinks she has to be the one go save the world all the time and that's getting old at this point.
I was so excited to read this new installment of the Alpha Girl, I made sure I had the time, cause I was not going to put it down! Now, this story, I didn't think it could get any better. But it did! It took loose strands that I didn't even realize were loose and started braiding then together. The dynamic, the relationships, the new ways that Tessa's world gets turned upside down were what made this book with reading. Just when you think she has a hold of the durian, it slips right through. It definitely kept me on the edge of my seat! Now I want to re-read them all over again.
I just had to read more about Tess and Destien. Big but coming up...the ending was rushed and some of the action felt like all the other books crammed into one. Also, they’ve already had their HEA and so the ending of this book didn’t feel like an ending of that makes sense. I was interested in Chris and Cossette but wished their “relationship†or previous flirting started a little earlier so it didn’t just seem like a reason to continue the series
I love this series and am now excited to read the next one! This one is mainly about Tessa and Dastien (which is great) but it also brings in the whole "family" throughout the book. I loved the ups and downs and how the ending keeps the story open to new possibilities and definitely more books. 😊Good job Aileen! Now go rest.
