It not only has the story presented in a way that your little one will love for you to read it to them over and over again, it also has a section in the back that is more of a complete historic story for you and your little one as they get a bit older.

There were no replicas of her paintings or flowers that inspired her art. I found a painting of hers and copied it off on my computer in Black and White so that my granddaughter would know what her art looks like and she can color it herself.

The text and illustrations show Georgia as a child standing apart from her six siblings in childhood, not running and playing, but observing the beauty of nature. The author, Isabel Sanchez Vegara’s makes the point that one of O’Keeffe’s objectives as an artist was to make people notice the little things that they might be too busy to notice otherwise. This is a child friendly biography that shows a young woman striving to achieve her dream. My biggest disappointment was that none of her artwork was shown or depicted in the book, not even at the back as an appendix. I did however, immediately go online and find websites containing many of her beautiful works of art. This book could be used to teach young children how to write a biography, show that it is important to have a dream and strive to achieve it as well as to introduce this artist and her works, imparting just enough information to get someone curious to investigate further. A good book for a school library. The publisher generously provided me with a copy of this book via netgalley.

She liked to sketch the world around her while other children played. She declared early on that she would be a painter. When she moved to the city, she wanted others to notice simple things like flowers, so she painted them closely. In her later life, she moved to New Mexico.I liked this story and it's illustrations. I especially like that the illustrator didn't try to imitate O'Keeffe's art. I think this gives the reader an opportunity to show the child some examples of the real work as part of the reading. The story is told simply and the book ends with a brief biography with some real photos of Georgia O'Keeffe.I received a review copy of this ebook from Frances Lincoln Children's Books, Quarto Publishing Group, and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I have to say I absolutely adore the little people, big dreams picture book collection. So when I got a chance to read a new addition, I jumped at it. Georgia O’Keefe is not someone I knew before reading this cute little book. It was a fun way to realize who she was. At a very young age, Georgia was inspired to draw not what she saw but what she felt. She found beauty in simplicity. She also found beauty in various places and cities, from Mexico to New York.This story encourages young children to follow their passions and find their own path on their adventure through life. The colors in this one are so bold! The book's artwork is as awesome as ever.Disclaimer: I received this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This is an excellent book to give a brief overview of a successful female artist to interest a child. The illustrations of O'Keeffe's life are really fun and it gives a good summary without going into too much detail. It is a great way to introduce O'Keeffe's life too a child and short enough to keep them interested.What I did find a little disappointing was that there were no pictures of O'Keeffe's work. That would have been a fun way for parent and child to talk about the actual art and to guess as to what they were looking at.Thanks so much to Netgalley, the publishers, and the author for providing me with a copy for an honest review.

Georgia comes to life as a young girl who loves art and moves away from home to become an artist. Her love of city architecture, the appeal of looking at things up close and her deep appreciation for the southwest all shine through. Plus, the reader learns about Alfred Stieglitz. A great series for parents and children to share. These books provide role models for dreaming children.

This book is very appropriately titled. I have recently embarked upon a little personal journey to become at least passably literate in the basics of as many of the world religions as I can, and therefore have sought out several books that describe the foundational principles of each. In my quest to understand Shintoism I chose this book first, and then read several others. I found this to be the clearest and most easily understandable to the Western reader. I trust the credentials of the author as giving him the tools with which to write such a work for an international audience as well. I found several very valuable insights from the belief system itself as well. Highly recommend.

I chose this book as part of a research effort to understand how the Toyota Production System (TPS) was influenced by societal aspects found in Japan. One thing that is "uniquely Japanese" is Shintoism, and so a working hypothesis was that it provided unconscious bias ("intuition") in how this manufacturing system was created and refined. This book provides a wealth of tantalizing clues useful in my study, and hope that there is enough commentary here to be useful to others seeking to satisfy curiosity or other forms of knowledge/enlightenment.Pro:+ This book, to the novice that I am, appears complete enough to be called "The Essence of Shinto"+ Complete, yet relative short and to the point+ Corrects the view that Shinto is a religion, rather it is better described as a value system that reveres "the Great Nature"+ Well written and easy to understand... with a better translation into English than other Japanese texts I have read+ Contains some interesting statements that might explain motivations behind "taking a long view" in cellular manufacturing: cell shape, 5s systems, kaizen, hansei, and "Ohno Circle" as well as why despite strong beliefs in standardization why separate factories often do not share these standards+ Also helped me explain why additional TPS-like systems are not emerging from Japan... one important element, Shintoism, is in rapid decline, making the philosopher approach less and less likely as time moves forward+ Makes some links to Buddhism, Taoism, and Confucianism which help one understand what Shintoism is, and how it is changingCon:- There is a lot of unique Japanese jargon which make it harder to follow at times, which may be unavoidable in this subject matter- The author is somewhat enamored with the subject matter, making him perhaps less objective, especially when making comparisons to Western religionsNeutral:> Although perhaps out of scope, some additional detail on Buddhism, Taoism, and Confucianism influences on shintoism would have been warmly welcomedBottom line: I would recommend this to any novice that wants to explore Shinto and for any others seeking deeper understanding of TPS.

I use this book to teach writing fundamentals in playwriting on the collegiate level. This is a great book for any level writer and is a great resource as well for theater teachers.

In the fall, as a volunteer coordinator, I will teach a course in a program for retired people (Quest, which is affiliated with CUNY). In researching materials for this course, I discovered this book. It seems to have a variety of interesting plays by contemporary playwrights.

This is a great piece of reading for those trying to learn more about playwriting/understanding the structure of plays. It was a very easy read, but very informative at the same time. Would recommend this product again.

Been studying for the test since February this year and took a 2 week CISSP review course this past week and tested on 10 August. None of the questions came even close to the actual exam in terms of style, syntax, or grammar. Needless to say I did not achieve a passing score using this book and test engine scoring over 90%. I have an MS Degree in IT, CompTIA Security + CE certified and have other certifications in Project Management Software Development Security, and Security Enterprise Architecture. I would say that you have to dig deep on each domain and not just understand concepts at the surface. If you point to a topic and can’t intelligently explain the concepts, you are not ready to take the real exam regardless how many practice tests you take. I would purchase this book if you want to practice concepts at the surface, but certainly will not solely help you with the real exam.

The questions are so so but the real kicker is the website to take online tests is horribly slow and hard to find. The creators of this should take a tip from the content and improve the web availability. I'd return this if I could.

Some of the items are just not correct, and a majority of others are at the wrong level of detail. The previous version of this book was much, much better. Just my humble opinion. I'd look elsewhere.Edit- This book is terrible. Do not use. The author rewrites questions from the old book and changes the language which often times makes the answers wrong. This is a poorly written and inaccurate version of the old book with a few questions added.For instance in this book - Segmentation, sequencing, and error checking all occur at what layer of the OSI model that is associated with SSL, TLS, and UDP? Answer (Transport Layer) Just wrong. Session layer for TLS and SSL and Transport Layer for UDP.Comparison(Old Book) - Lauren uses the ping utility to check whether a remote system is up as part of a penetration testing exercise. If she wants to filter out ping by protocol, what protocol should she filter out from her packet sniffer's logs? ICMP.... Makes Sense(This Book) - Lauren uses the ping utility to check whether a remote system is up as part of a penetration testing exercise. If she does not want to see her own ping packets, what protocol should she filter out from her packet sniffer’s logs? True, but it doesn't make sense because she wouldn't see the replies either... just dumb.

This book covers absolutely nothing on the exam. **Nothing** Instead; it sends you off memorizing scores of irrelevant material. None of it appears on the exam. The topics are wrong, the level of detail is wrong, the focus is wrong, the terminology is completely different from the actual test. This book will have you memorizing hyper specific details that have nothing to do with anything. You may as well memorize a phone book.I bought this book, studied and passed all 12 exams in it, by comfortable margins - then studied every question I got wrong. No help, since this book is unrelated to the test.Even the author's questions on his own topics are often wrong. He'll use a question twice, but it has different answers in different chapters. Incorrect database terminology too.Don't buy this piece of crepe from a lazy author. He just recirculated some questions from an older book. It's garbage.

Some of the questions make you think, and then when you go back to the SYBEX book you can't find a reference that explains it in the context of the question. But then some questions I think the answers are wrong for example the question on page 130 number 10. I believe the answer should be A after looking it up in the book referenced aicpa website.

This is super-helpful, it helped me pass the exam. What is really useful about the book is that it gets you a year subscription to the online testing system that automates these practice exams. You can use this with your kindle on the go and use the interactive web version when you are on your desktop computer. Just one warning, there are a lot of older versions of this guide for sale floating around on Amazon. The CISSP test changes all the time. This was the most current version as of the time that I took the exam, but they refresh the material at least bi-annually. Make sure that you are getting the latest edition.

Enjoyed using this as a practice resources. Did everything in learning quiz mode when I completed domains in the Offical Study Guide. Then did a retake on the questions I got wrong. The types of questions help prepare you for what’s types are on the exam..like click and drag items. I would use this resource in combination with the Offical Study Guide and enroll in CertMike.com to setup a weekly plan for learning. The learning videos offer exam tips.

After doing the domain tests, I delayed my exam a month. They are hard tests. Going to take exam January. This is a fantastic and absolutely necessary tool. Don’t let it be disheartening when you mess up the domain tests, just learn from them. Trust me when I say, use this and maybe 11th hour for a summary and the free skill set videos on YouTube and you will pass. Good luck.

Gives a good overview of the law and the cases are very helpful in further understanding it. However, there is no reason why this should be $90 used. I only bought this as my class required it, there are much cheaper and even free material out there that is superior to this book.

I had to take Business Law for College and this was my text book. I was very impressed with the writing in the book, including the case studies. I really didn't know what to expect from this class and this textbook but they book exceeded my expectations. This is one textbook that I will be keeping instead of turning it back in.

This book is very well written and is quite straightforward, and I enjoyed reading about the real life business cases in this book. I learned a lot about business law and how it works in general and it is better than the business law book I used back at NC State during the spring of 2005. This one has more real life examples and each chapter has a real life case.I highly recommend this book for students majoring in accounting. Business Law isn't my favorite subject, but this book definitely made it more fun! Thanks! :)

This textbook is a rental and I think it is a brand new book. Just a comment that it arrived with the corners damaged a little. It does not affect the textbook and I will use it this semester, I will just be careful with it so the damage does not increase. It is hardcover and such a heavy book that I think it occurred during shipping. Otherwise, no issues.

I bought this as a loose leaf edition and I am very pleased with it. My professor prefers Mr. Cheeseman's books. She states that she can still recommend some of the older versions for classes as well. The book is well written and presented so that students can easily learn from it.

Almost like a review of my entire law school curriculum in one text book, with one difference - it has Pictures, and Clear Headings, and other Learning Aids - those dry case books in law school did not have any of that. I highly recommend this book. PS - I bought a used copy, one edition older than current, for about $20. What a steal. The law has not changed that much in 2 years.

I really enjoy readnig from this book, which can't be said for all the books I read for class. This books presents information in an easy reading manner and is full of many pertinent court cases. I think the inclusion of so many cases is important as it illistrates concepts while at the same time keeps the readers attention since they are real world settings that are more easily digested.The only downside to this book, and thus one reason for only four stars, is its large size, which is probably common for most business law books. This book is very hefty! I like reading outdoors at a park or sitting on a bench and this book was mostly too large for me to do this. It would be beneficial to have this book either split to two books, or in an electronic version so that only the sections to be studied can easily be taken with the reader.Overall great book!
